MEDIA ART EXHIBITION AT THE WOMEN’S MUSEUM BONN, ROSENBACH CLASS
... Up with the experimental stage of video and performance and with
the question: What do the New Media have to offer for art’s old
tradition of self-reflection? Twenty of Ulrike Rosenbach’s students
pursue this question in a colorful mix of media-installations, photography
and performances in an exciting exhibition now being shown at the Women’s
Museum.
The artists, all attending or graduated from the Saarbrücken Academy
of Fine Arts focus on a certain style inspired by their teacher Ulrike
Rosenbach, who has appeared at the documenta. A style rooted in self-,
skin- and body-experience, for example in body movements which visualize
the energy between a virtual and a real body (master student Walli Höfinger
in dance) or experiments with the simultaneous powers of the voice.
