2004 About Walli Höfinger

From 1993 to 1999 Waltraud Höfinger was a student at the Saarbrücken Academy of Fine Artx, where she studied "New Artisitc Media" with me, concentrating on performance art. For two more terms she studied in more depth as my masterstudent. Since then Waltraud Höfinger has launched a very interesting career of her own centered around performance art. Her work style has brought with it a training discipline covering physical and vocal disciplines, which together with focused improvisation has become a unique artistic medium in which she does splendid, independent work.
Höfinger understands how to combine the compositions of different media in an interesting way. Her works have a correct conceptual form and an independent esthetic.
Straight after completing her studies she was given a teaching assignment at the Saar Academy of Fine Arts, for "Actionistic Form-Elements in Space". Walli Höfinger proved to be a very committed teacher. Working with her, the students created successful performance presentations.
Her great capacity for discipline, her stamina and her personal degree of maturity enable the young artist to do compelling artistic work which she will surely carry on in the years to come.
