The Space   A rectangular strip of coquina is laid out between 6 columns of the space, lit from above. Within the marked space there are 3 monitors showing the “Feet Video”, which creates an orange color atmosphere on the lower level. On the upper wooden crossbeams I have installed blue neon lights which fill the upper space, the ceiling, with blue light.

The Action   Inspired by the meditation technique of Vipassana walking I walk along the rectangular path of coquina barefoot and very slowly. Each step causes a soft crackling and crunching sound which is amplified in the space. At the same time, the monitors emit the sound of slow steps on glass splinters.
The performance takes place at twilight, which means that the light atmosphere becomes more intense, changing subtly during the performance as the daylight fades.

The video   Each of the 3 monitors shows 2 bare feet slowly moving on an elastic orange membrane, creating a highly elastic, organic effect, the association with an embryo in the womb.
The Performance takes place during the dawn - the space's light-situation continously changes during the performance. This creates a special light-effect and changing relationship between the space, the performer and the video installation.
